A spanner in the works

Posted September 3rd, 2009 by Penny Wise

Eek, it's September already! This is just a quick post. I'm not in the habit of hiding things and news travels fast so wanted to let you know where things were at. I haven't been feeling too well lately and have been getting steadily worse over the past few weeks until I was barely able to function at all. The doctor suspects the problem is neurological and has referred me for urgent tests - unfortunately things like brain scans cost around $1000 a pop and we don't have health insurance so have to wait a few weeks while he does his best to push me through the public health system. I'd be lying if I said we weren't a bit worried but am trying to stay positive at the moment until we have something proper to worry about. Noel is being wonderful, doing everything for me (except the ironing, not his strong point!) and Liam bless his heart is helping me in my Trade Me mission whenever he can. With only three weeks to go until we leave for Australia, the pressure's on but he's doing a grand job and I can't wait to see the total!

So apologies in advance if my blog posts are a little erratic at the moment (or if they're full of spelling mistakes or if I repeat things twice, it happens!) I wlll post whenever I can. Ali has planted his new vegetable garden and is impatient for me to show you the photos, not to mention our three new spring lambs!
